KMZ data
Nominal paths for ERS-2/Envisat, Topex/Poseidon, Interlaced Topex and GFO are available in KMZ format (zipped KML files), useful for visualisation in Google Earth (or similar tools). These are available through the Aviso Website at:
For less technical folks, a plain text file is easier to handle; CTOH makes available this data as comma-separated value text files (.csv), with the format: track-number, longitude, latitude. These data is available at ca. 0.5° in latitude resolution and are derived from Aviso's KMZ data above;
- ERS-2/Envisat nominal path (before 10/2010)
- Envisat new orbit (after 11/2010, not strictily periodic)
- GFO nominal path
- Topex/Poseidon nominal path (for Topex before 08/2002, for Jason-1 before 02/2009 and for Jason-2)
- Topex/Poseidon interlaced path (for Topex after 09/2002 and Jason-1 after 02/2009)
